3rd Finger Power-Up: Rhythm Drills

• Isolate & Conquer: Start with single notes, focusing on smooth 3rd finger placement and clear string separation. Use a metronome for steady rhythm.
• Slide & Pick: Practice sliding 2nd to 3rd finger on the same fret, accenting the downpick on the 3rd. Increase tempo as you gain control.
• Chromatic Climb: Play chromatic scales using 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fingers, focusing on even finger pressure and clean transitions.
• String Skip Shuffle: Play 1st finger on low E, 3rd finger on high E, alternating downpicks. Gradually increase speed while maintaining accuracy.
• Chord Changes with Groove: Practice switching between chords that use 3rd finger (C, G, D) with a metronome, focusing on smooth transitions and rhythmic accuracy.

Ukulele: Conquering C & Am

• Master the basics: Focus on clean finger placement and smooth chord transitions between C (index on 2nd fret, A, E strings) and Am (index on 2nd fret, E string; middle on 3rd fret, A string).
• Strumming fun: Start with a simple down-down-up-down pattern, accenting the down strums. Experiment with faster tempos or strumming variations later.
• Simple melodies: Practice picking out single notes on the A string (2nd fret is C, 3rd fret is D, 5th fret is E) to create basic melodies over the chords.
• Explore the web: Find online tutorials, chord charts, and even two-chord song resources to expand your repertoire.
