The Wilderness Festival took place from August 3rd to August 6th, 2023. This event happened at a beautiful spot called Cornbury Park in the Cotswolds. It was like a big treat for everyone’s senses and taste buds. Imagine enjoying fancy dinners in fancy tents, watching lively cabaret shows, and even joining wine tastings led by drag queens! There were so many different things to do at the festival. The place where it happened looked a bit like a small version of Versailles, which made it feel even more special.
Challenging Summer!
This summer, many festivals had problems because of bad weather, but Wilderness Festival did really well. Even though there were a few clouds on Saturday, people still felt happy and positive there. This festival is not like the usual ones that focus a lot on music, especially fast and loud music. It’s more for people who like fancier things. Instead of just music, you can do different fun things, like letting your kids watch a movie or doing yoga together in a special place called The Sanctuary. On Sunday morning, lots of families came to listen to a Vivaldi concert, which was surprising because usually, festivals are a bit quiet on Sunday mornings.
There’s more to talk about wilderness
Fatboy Slim bring the raveAfter the fun things for families ended at midnight, people who love to dance went to a place called The Valley by the lake. There were colorful lights and music played by Eats Everything. Ronnie Scott’s, which is a famous place for jazz music in London, also had a night where they played music. Other stages had really good shows too. Confidence Man, a pair of performers from Australia, did cool dances. Christine and The Queens did performances that looked like plays and were really impressive. Sugababes sang all their popular songs, and Fatboy Slim played old-school dance songs that made people feel happy and calm, and he also talked about wanting peace in the world.

People can do fun things like swimming in a cold river, seeing famous people like Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and Taron Egerton, and going to a tent where they only sell a special kind of champagne called Veuve Clicquot. The festival also has some really unique things, like cricket games where people run naked, live recordings of podcasts about different topics, and relaxing massages with special oils and sounds.
In a realm where festivals often leave attendees drained, Wilderness Festival manages to recharge them.
