Legendary Band Moheener Ghoraguli Tapas Bapi Das' last founding member passes away. Tapas Bapi Das, the sole remaining founder member of the pioneering Indian Bangla rock band Moheener Ghoraguli and famous composer, guitarist, and music aficionado, died on Sunday morning after a battle with lung cancer. According to many media sources, he died at the SSKM Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. Since 1974, Moheener Ghoraguli's band Tapas has transformed Bangla music with a unique blend of baul, jazz, folk, and rock music supplemented with beautiful, soulful sounds and profound lyrics. Tapas was one of West Bengal's most admired painters. He'd been fighting lung cancer for a time and was now in the third stage, undergoing chemotherapy. Since the news of his sickness surfaced in January, artists in both West Bengal and Bangladesh have been soliciting cash for his treatment, with the West Bengal government overseeing his care. On July 14, a fundraiser concert with 40 famous Bangladeshi performers was set to take place at Dhaka's Liberation War Museum. Tapas was born on September 22, 1954, in Kolkata, and was one of the original members of Moheneer Ghoraguli, along with Gautam Chattopadhyay, Ranjon Ghoshal, Pradip Chatterjee, Biswanath Bishu Chattopadhyay, Tapesh Bandopadhyay, and Abraham Mazumdar. This original lineup remained in place until 1978. Tapas became the creator and mentor behind the next-generation Bangla band Moheen Ekhon O Bondhura in 2015, after the band disbanded. Tapas is listed as a co-lyricist, composer, and performer on numerous Moheener Ghoraguli songs, including Haay, Bhalobasi, Bheshe Ashey Kolkata, Shudhijon Shono, Ayee Surey Bohudurey, and others. 'Even though he lost his battle with cancer, he at least got to know about this initiative, and he expressed his joy when we first discussed this concert with him,' Eventholic, the organizer of the scheduled fundraising concert in Bangladesh for the legendary artiste, said on its official Facebook page. Lucky Akhand was a Bangladeshi singer-composer. He was associated with the musical band Happy Touch. He composed and gave vocal to songs including Ei Neel Monihar, Aamay Deko Na, Agey Jodi Janitam, Riti Niti Janina, Polatok Am, Abar Elo Jey Shondhya Porichoy Kobe hobe, Aj achhi kal nei, Hotath kore Bangladesh, Tumi Daklei kachhe astam, Bolechhile kal tumi asbe, Tumi ke bolona, Amake tumi valo besona, Mamonia, and Shadhinota Tomake Niye. He served as the music director of Bangladeshi national radio network Bangladesh Betar. Akhand got music lessons at the age of five from his father. He performed in music programs for children on television and radio from 1963 to 1967. He was enlisted as a music composer of HMV Pakistan when he was 14 and a musician of HMV India at 16. He won the first prize in the ‘Modern Bangla Songs category in 1969 from the Pakistan Art Council. He was an artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, the radio broadcasting center of the Bangladesh Government formed for Liberation Struggle during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.

With all this big historical setting, Moon Knight is certainly showing something new that goes a bit beyond the superhero lore to introduce some real mythical stories and characters passing through the Marvel treatment. Definitely, something that will attract history buffs and mythology fans to this already popular cinematic universe. Having said that, knowing who these gods and goddesses are, gives the story another dimension even though some liberties are taken in the marvelization of the characters. I will discuss these Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses that have made it into the MCU in the last series Moon Knight but one by one. Of course, I will start this list with Khonshu, who is the first god to be introduced in the series and is the Egyptian deity that has the most connection with Steven Grant/Marc Spector in the Moon Knight story. So, without further ado, let's get into the mythical stories about Khonshu. As mentioned, Khonshu (or Khonsu) is the main deity reference since he is the one that uses Marc Spector as a body on Earth or as it’s known in the series, as his avatar, Moon Knight. In Egyptian Mythology, Khonsu was an ancient Egyptian moon god, emerging in texts as far back as 2350 BCE. The creator’s primary city of worship seems to be Thebes which is currently about 400 miles south of the capital, Cairo. Khonsu’s significance seems to have shifted throughout time. He was also considered to be a violent and bloodthirsty god, as well as a being thought to rule over evil spirits. Many scholars agree his name is derived from a word meaning “to cross” or “to travel.” However, in some versions, he is the one that controls evil forces and the one who can cause immense harm to human beings.
