The long-awaited ceremony was moved back to Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre from its original date at the end of February due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The 94th Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.

CODA was the night’s big winner, taking home the Best Picture award. The film received three nominations and won all three.  The other two awards go to Troy Kotsur for Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Dune received six Oscar nominations and won six of them: Best original score, Best cinematography, Best visual effects, Best film editing, Best Sound, and Best production design.

The Power of the Dog, which received 12 nominations, received only one award. Jane Campion was named Best Director.

The Oscars had a host for the first time since 2017, with Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes serving as co-hosts throughout the night. Lady Gaga, Liza Minelli, Zoe Kravitz, Daniel Kaluuya, Mila Kunis, Simu Liu, Lupita Nyong’o, and other celebrities presented the awards and performed too.

The Oscars 2022 were already marred by controversy before the ceremony even began when it was announced that eight awards would be cut for time and not presented on the night. Despite the fact that West Side Story was nominated for Best Picture, Rachel Zegler was not initially invited to the ceremony. She has since been added to the Academy’s presenting lineup, following a backlash over the move online.

The complete list of nominees is provided below, with winners highlighted in bold.
